I Shall Return
// August 12th, 2010 // California
Much like MacArthur I too must leave a place I have come to love, now I’m sure the Japanese aren’t going to invade the country while I’m overseas, but the sooner I get back, the better. Now, to answer what is certainly your initial question; Yes, I have flown back to the states and since there are no direct flights from Melbourne to Spokane I decided to stay in Socal.
So why am I back? Well to make it sort I wasn’t able to work out my visa to extend my stay, if you want more info you’ll have to buy me a beer and I’ll tell you over dinner. So, am I done traveling? Nope, although my postings might be lacking, my thirst for travel is far from being quenched and if anything has only been exacerbated.
For the few of you Spokane peeps that still read this I’m sorry but I will not be coming back to Spokane to live anytime soon, sure I’ll come up for a cheeky little BBQ or lash but I don’t think I’ll be taking up residence anytime soon. Instead I’ll either be staying in California for some time or moving to Colorado for the ski season.
For now though, this city slicker is headed into the great Sierra Nevadas for a two week backpacking trip that will surely end with a “Breaking Story” across your TV set, hopefully it will be about me finding some Ansel Adams artifact and not about me stumbling into a bear den. On the other hand, I have one thing going for me; I have just finished watching the 3rd season of Survivorman.
Well with Les Stroud’s voice in my head and time running out to post this story, I just wanted to thank all you Aussies and Kiwis (even some of you Europeans) for the most epic chapter in my life and I hope our paths cross sooner than later. Well until the next posting, adios muchachos.
